Completing three days in a row of crossfit workouts & still able to walk!
Seriously though, I feel invincible when I overcome a seemingly very challenging task (not seemingly “impossible” because it’s all possible). Challenging my perceived limitations & then breaking through that barrier is a huge sense of encouragement. It makes me feel like I’m on top of the world & can do anything.
My first day at Hyperfit (crossfit gym in Ann Arbor) I took on the 5-4-3-2-1 challenge. 500 meters rowing. 40 squats. 30 sit ups. 20 push ups. 10 pull ups. Timed.
10 sessions later, after training & learning the ropes, I faced the 5-4-3-2-1 challenge again…clearly with the goal to improve my time.
Challenge overcome. I improved my time by over one minute.
I left that day with a sense of confidence I hadn’t felt in awhile. I felt as if I could tackle anything that came my way.
Another challenge I overcame that left me feeling invincible was when I got my wisdom teeth out. Maybe no big deal for some people, but for me…huge deal. Three words: blood, sweat, fainting. Intrigued?! Read the full story of my wisdom teeth venture & defeat!
I need challenges. Meaningful & impactful challenges. Not just physical, but mental, spiritual, social. Life challenges. Knowing this about myself has been part of the inspiration behind my life experiments/life ventures. Because it’s in overcoming challenges & meeting goals that my greatest strengths & confidence is revealed.
What makes you feel invincible?
venture on,
mel, the venture gal
