Some days I can easily be mistaken for a 14 year old. Other days I look my age (a decade older than a 14 year old). I remember going to a middle school track meet, when I was helping with some coaching, & one of the middle school competitors from another team asked me which events I was doing. I looked at the kid & said “I’m a coach”. He proceeded to not believe me.
Story of my life…sometimes.
Looking younger is A-OK by me. I’d rather look younger, than older. I’m sure I’ll appreciate it even more when I’m 40. There are a lot of great benefits to looking younger. Some of my favorites, include:
- Pass for a student to get student discounts & other student perks
- Homeless people don’t ask you for money
- Get cheaper clothes (kids section, oh yeah!)
- Cast in movies/TV shows for younger roles (not being subject to minor work rules, but still looking like a minor)
Of course it’s up to someone whether or not to exercise such powers. When asked if I’m a student I usually answer “I’m a student of life”, but don’t claim to be a University student even when I know I can make it believable. My conscious doesn’t want to handle that. Dang you conscious!!
Venture on,
